RESEARCH INTEREST

Behavioural ecology / Bioacoustics: geographic variation in calls, acoustic signalling of body size and identity, form and function of duet and chorus. Nature protection: habitat preferences and selection in Corncrake, using acoustic signals to individuals' identification, calls as a useful tool in monitoring and census tasks. Species of interest: Corncrake (Crex crex), Common Crane (Grus grus), Chubb’s Cisticola (Cisticola chubbi).

CURRENT PROJECTS

(1) The role of formant frequencies in acoustic signalling of body size of the sender in selected species from Gruiformes order
(2) Geographic variation and individual discrimination in Corncrake
(3) Form and function of duet and chorus in Chubb’s Cisticola
